ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Davenport men's bowling team finished third over the weekend at the Great Lakes Bowling Conference No. 2 event out of 20 schools. The outstanding result saw the Panthers total 9,667 pins which trailed just UW-Whitewater (9,725) and Marian (10,157) after 46 games bowled.
Davenport had a total of 6,497 during the team portion and then had 3,170 during the baker games to reach their total pinfall.
Nick Luther brought home some hardware making the all-tournament team in fifth place. Luther had an incredible 203.3 average over his six games. He rolled over 200 in five of those games including a high of 256 in the second game.
Andy Baculi narrowly missed out on all-tournament team and finished seventh with an average of 222.9. He rolled all six games over 200 with a high of 238 in the fifth game.Â
Kalen Klingelsmith had his best showing to date finishing ninth with an average of 220.3. He started off with a 254 and followed that with 232 and 245.
Trevor VanPolen after his outstanding performance last tournament slipped to 39th place with an average of 198.0. He had a high of 234 in the third game.
Lucas Buck finished 60th overall with an average of 212.4 based on total pinfall over five games. He had a high of 244 in the fourth game.
