WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The men's bowling team rolled it down the lanes for the first time in 2022-23 at the Midwest Collegiate Classic. The Panthers finished 27th out of 49 varsity programs with a total of 8,794. Not too shabby considering that two starters were not competing for Davenport.
Freshman Ethan Vanderslik had a rousing debut finishing 73rd out of over 300 bowlers at the event. He averaged 201.7 for six games and rolled over 200 in the first four games including a high of 255 in the second game.
Antonio Martinez placed 108th with an average of 192.2 and did so as part of the junior varsity team. Martinez had three games over 200 including a high of 225 in the third game. Tyler Kelly finished 159th overall with an average of 203.4 but rolled five of six games for a pinfall of 1,017. He had a high game of 220 in the fourth game.
Lucas Buck rounded out the top four bowlers for Davenport in 212th place. He averaged 206.3 in the four games he bowled with a high of 228 in the second game.
