GLIAC Release

GLIAC - Davenport University women's volleyball team captains, Kenzy Corstange and Hayley Kreiger, were named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively, on Monday night. It's the second honor of Corstange's career, both of which have come this season, while Kreiger is up to four in her career and two this fall.

Starting with Corstange, the senior racked up 39 digs in two matches, or 6.5 per set, while becoming the ninth member of Davenport's 1,000-kill club on Saturday at Saginaw Valley State. This season, the Richland, Mich. native leads the league in total digs with 332 and ranks second in digs per set with 5.11. The 5-10 libero needs just 55 more digs to move up from ninth to eighth on the Panthers' career chart.

As for Kreiger, the graduate outside hitter finished with 35 kills in DU's two wins, or 5.8 per set, and broke her own school record (for the second time this season) for kills in a three-set match with 25 on Saturday at Saginaw Valley State. The 6-1 attacker has sent home an even 300 kills so far this season, which is good for second in the conference, and her 4.62 kills per set also rank second among GLIAC players.

Corstange, Kreiger and the rest of the Panthers (14-4, 7-2 GLIAC) will host Parkside on Friday at 7 p.m. riding a six-match winning streak.
