GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Panthers skated to a 4-1 win on Friday, November 11 at Patterson Ice Center in Grand Rapids. The Saturday matchup against Western Michigan was not posted to the ACHA website therefore no stats are provided. The Panthers beat the Broncos on home ice and did so behind a big second period in which they scored three goals.
Davenport scored the first four goals of the contest en route to their second win of the season on Friday. Liam Simerson scored the only first period goal at 2:01 from Caleb Baker.
Salvatore DiDomenico scored his first goal as a Panther on the power play at 3:55 of the second period from
Kevin Crawley and
Carter Osborn. Osborn netted a goal himself just 35 seconds later, his fourth of the season, from Alexander Brown. Simerson was at it again at 6:38 of the middle stanza from
John Lizyness and Baker.
Dante Smedinghoff broke up the shutout for Western Michigan at 5:35 of the third period on the power play from Kevin Jack. It was the first goal for Smedinghoff and first assist for Jack this season.
Cameron Griep stopped 22-of-23 shots in net for the Panthers. John Wagner stopped 32-of-36 shots in net for Western Michigan.
