ALLENDALE, Mich. - The women's basketball team did not have the answer to solve top-ranked Grand Valley State on Sunday afternoon in GLIAC action falling 92-47. The Lakers have won all 13 meetings in the all-time series and improved to 9-0, 3-0 GLIAC while the Panthers are now 5-5, 0-3 GLIAC.
It was tough sledding right from the opening tip as the Lakers scored the first 10 points in 4:05 of game time capped off by an Ellie Droste layup. The Panthers elected to sub out three players and scored their first points on a
Makenna Bryant jumper at the 5:10 mark. The lead for Grand Valley State grew to 22-3 late in the quarter when Bryant hit a three-pointer at the 1:14 mark. The Lakers led 24-6 after the opening quarter.
