Rocket League Division 1:
Another tough week for the Rocket League Division 1 team as they look to regain the footing they lost after the departure of former team captain
Brenden Wardlaw. This week we dropped our match against Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-2 in NACE. The DU Rocket League D1 team is consistently going through growing pains and looks to rebound this week against Southeast Missouri State, a game which has been rescheduled to February 23rd instead of the 21st.
CSGO Division 1:
CSGO D1 continued their winning ways this week with a win over the 1-4 Able Esports in ESEA Adv. This win moves the team to 4-2, two wins away from avoiding relegation to ESEA Main and five wins away from locking in a ESEA Adv. Playoff birth for the second season in a row. While the team is still experiencing it's own version of growing pains, the team is coming together and showing why they are a forced to be reckoned with in the collegiate Counter Strike scene. CSGO D1 takes on Snakes DenGG (3-3) on the 24th and then Limitless (4-2) on the 28th.
CSGO Division 2:
This week was both ups and downs for the CSGO D2 team. Starting off with ESEA, D2 took on Kitfoxes and Cheerleader Tryouts and split it 1-1, dominating Kitfoxes 16-6 before dropping a nail-biter against Cheerleader Tryouts 16-12. This moves the CSGO D2 team to 3-3 in ESEA Open and pushes their backs further against the wall if they want to qualify for playoffs and ultimately make it into ESEA Intermediate next season.
On the collegiate side of things, CSGO D2 came away with an impressive victory over MSU Spartans White. Labeled as one of the best teams in our division, the team had their work cut out for them. After dropping map one (Vertigo) to MSU, DU rebounded and won maps 2 and 3 to complete the reverse sweep and defeat the undefeated Spartans, moving DU to 3-0 in NACE Challenger. This week we take on another undefeated team in Kansas State University. A victory over Kansas State will cement our team as the best in the division and puts us on a direct path to a playoff birth and a #1 seeding. The team is fired up and ready to compete as we look to defend our Challenger national champion title.
League of Legends:
League of Legends continues to struggle. Those struggles showed as we once again dropped our match. This time to the University of Minnesota's Delta Team. Davenport lost 2-0 in a very winnable series where small mistakes ultimately led to our downfall. We now move to 1-4 in NACE and look ahead to Manchester University before heading into spring break.
Rainbow Six:
Friday we made our CollegiateR6 Premier debut and it didn't end up going how we planned. Our first match of the night was against Tulsa on Villa. We lost 7-2. Villa being one of our more favored and played maps, we felt confident going into the match. Unfortunately, we couldn't match the aggression of Tulsa and this trend carried over to our second game of the night against UIC. We played our second most played map, Chalet and lost 7-3. We start CollegiateR6 0-2.
Action continued on into Saturday as we took on Kettering. Both teams were undefeated at 3-0 heading into the match. Both teams knowing one another fairly well. We lost 2-1 in a best-of-three. Bank was a rough showing from our end as we got swept 7-0. I'm very proud of our team when it came to map two, Clubhouse, because we didn't let map one affect us and we close out the second map 8-6. Kafe was a good start, but we weren't able to get more than three rounds and we lost the map 7-3, closing out the series.
I can't say that I'm okay with the way we played. We aimed for the maps we wanted, we got them, and yet we came up far short. We weren't playing like ourselves on both days. We should've had at least one win from the weekend. The biggest takeaway is the fact that we went toe-to-toe with Kettering who's a consistent top 6 team. Monday isn't going to be pretty as we look at our mistakes, but we look forward to do better heading into next weekend.

Call of Duty:
The DU Call of Duty team continues to show why we are one of the top programs in the country when it comes to collegiate Call of Duty. This week was no different. Tuesday we faced off against one of the top teams in our division in College Call of Duty in St. Clair College. The St. Clair College Saints were able to take a map off of us, but ultimately DU prevailed by defeating them 3-1 and almost guaranteeing ourselves a spot in the College CoD playoffs with powerhouses like Northwood, Bay State, and University of Ottawa. The following day, DU kept to its winning ways, toppling Southeastern Illinois College 3-0. DU showed no remorse and completely dominated SIC, winning all three maps in less than an hour. DU now looks to take on a much stronger opponent in Illinois State University (4-1) this week with the match most likely to be streamed by NACE and CSL.
Smash Bros:
It was a match for the ages this week as Davenport took on Oakland University in their 4th NACE Smash Crew Battles match of the season. Oakland came out swinging and built a large lead before team captain Sean "Smithers" Smith took the stage and brought it back to give Davenport a slight lead. Upon his defeat, all was left was for Davenport sophomore, CJ Goodfellow. Unfortunately, due to some misplays, CJ fell slightly short and DU fell to Oakland 12-11, moving to 2-2 on the season. Next up is GLIAC foe, Michigan Tech.
