Qualification Meet Participants
INDIANAPOLIS - Davenport's
Emily Bolt,
Lacey Mirandette and
Lexis Mirandette are three of 50 Division II divers that will compete on Tuesday, March 8 with hopes of qualifying for the 2022 NCAA Championships taking place the following Wednesday-Saturday, March 9-12. Of those 50 competing in the qualification meet, up to 22 will become National Qualifiers and head to the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. for a chance at a National Championship.
More specifically, to participate in the qualification meet and the national championships on 1-meter and/or 3-meter boards, a diver must have achieved the minimum point total along with the established minimum degrees of difficulty on the six optional and/or 11 dives within the qualifying period in bona fide competition. Divers who achieve the qualifying standard on one board may compete on both boards in the qualification meet. Six optional dives will be performed by each diver in the event in which the student-athlete participates. Up to 18 males and 22 females will advance to the national championships.
Fourteen of the 50 divers come from the GLIAC and Davenport is second in the league with three behind Grand Valley State's six. Conference wise, Davenport and Grand Valley State are joined by Saginaw Valley State (2), Wayne State (2) and Northern Michigan (1).
