The Davenport men's Division III team got the monkey off their back in their last game with a big 7-3 road win at Adrian College last Saturday. The Panthers picked up win No. 5 on the season and after a scoreless first period lit the lamp three times in the second period and four more in the third period for the victory over the Bulldogs.
Adrian finished the game with a 49-30 edge in shots on goal but
Barrett Rosser was up to the task in net for the Panthers with 46 saves. The first period only had one penalty against
Caleb Baker for a two-minute hooking at 12:53. The Bulldogs scored late in the period at 19:34 to lead 1-0 after 20 minutes.Â
Alex Brown got the scoring going in the second period at 3:08 from
Kevin Crawley and
Jared Kifer. Down 2-1, Baker scored his third goal of the season at 12:52 to tie it up.
Liam Simerson gave DU the 3-2 lead at 18:51 from Baker and
Aiden Dion. The Bulldogs tied it up again at 19:03 to set up the final period.
The tide turned 35 seconds into the third when Dion scored a short-handed goal from Simerson. Simerson just under a minute later made it 5-3 from Dion.
Liam O'Connell scored his second goal of the season at 3:01 on the power play from
Hunter Tolsdorf and Kifer.
Tyler Blackburn finished it off at 7:21 from
Joe Seidel and Kifer for a flawless period by the Panthers.
