Panthers Secure First Place Finish at SVSU Spring Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Davenport men's golf team recorded a first-place finish at the SVSU Spring Invitational this weekend (March 18-19) at Kearney Hill Golf Links. The Panthers competed against 20 other schools and finished with a final team score of 583, three strokes better than second place McKendree.

Noah Bridgeman finished with a team-best 36-round score of 143 on the weekend, marking the second-best score of all players. The junior tallied four birdies on day one and five on the second day of action.

Foster Faber and Brandon Bodis each scored inside the top 10 as Faber tied for sixth overall shooting 145, while Bodis was one stroke behind at 146, tying for ninth overall. Faber recorded five birdies, Bodis finished with a team-high eight while each registered one eagle.

Aiden Deng finished with a score of 149, shooting a low round of 73 and finishing 25th overall. Rounding out the Panthers' golfers was Tyler Kapcia shooting 165 with a low round of 76.

Looking ahead, DU will return to action next Friday, March 24, at the Davenport Tri-Match at the Mines Golf Club in Grand Rapids, Mich.
