The Davenport women's swimming and diving team participated in two different locations over the first weekend of competition. The divers were in Clarion, Pa. for the Don Leas Invite on Friday and Clarion Fall Classic on Saturday. Freshman
Avary Robinson posted results of 13th place in the 11-dive, one-meter on Friday with 258.2 points. Senior
Anna VanHaitsma placed 14th with a score of 238.85. VanHaitsma would also finish 16th in the three-meter, 6-dive with a score of 138.25. Freshman
Ava Perez-Rapolevich would finish in 18th place with a score of 125.7. Robinson would also finish in 19th place with a score of 115.75. Perez-Rapolevich finished in 14th place in the one-meter, 6-dive with a score of 165.4. Robinson was 20th at 156.6 and VanHaitsma was 21st at 135.
On Saturday, VanHaitsma placed 16th in the three-meter, 6-dive with a score of 145.85. Robinson was 18th at 135.1 and Perez-Rapolevich was 19th at 123.55. Perez-Rapolevich placed 17th in the one-meter, 6-dive with 148.6 points. Robinson was 19th with 138.15 points. VanHaitsma was 21st with 121 points.
The swimmers were at their own facility of the Kentwood Aquatic Center for the October Invitational.
Alicja Pinkowicz got an NCAA B standard in the 200 backstroke (2:02.61) and
Angie Lorena Gomez Garcia got an NCAA B standard in the 1,000 free (10:22.41) as the top highlights. Gomez Garcia was also able to win the 500 free with a time of 5:06.08. Pinkowicz also won the 100 back with a time of 57.18.
Ella Wagner won the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.20 and the 400 IM in a time of 4:32.38. She also won the 200 breast in a time of 2:22.23.
Julia Mizik won the 50 free in a time of 24.50.
Asyia Shank won the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.70.
Mallory Brownrigg won the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.82.
The Panthers scored a total of 953 points during the meet and was ahead of Saint Ambrose (811), Aquinas (792), and Lake Superior State (40).
