AUGUSTA, Mich. - It was a banner two days at the Davenport Invitational for the women's golf team as they tackled a familiar course at Stonehedge North. The Panthers were able to break the 36-hole team scoring record at DU by shooting 600 for the tournament and finished second. They were tied with Saginaw Valley State after Saturday's round, but ended up falling by nine strokes on Sunday. The previous record of 604 was set during the 2019 season. In addition, freshman Venetia Chap set a new 18-hole record by shooting a 69 (-3) in Saturday's round. She would follow that up with a 75 on Sunday and finish in a two-way tie for second place at even par 144. Chap posted five birdies on her scorecard in the opening round and after an ever par on the front nine came in with a 33. She would post two birdies in her final round at the par-4, 6th hole and par-5, 14th hole. The last two holes proved to be a tough break as she played those in three-over par.

ThaiLee Gerding opened with a 76 and finished with a 75 to finish in a three-way tie for 12th place at seven-over par (151). Hannah Robinson was in a three-way tie for 15th just one stroke behind Gerding at 152. She carded a 78 on Saturday and was four strokes better on Sunday. Lauren Gervais made it four Panthers to crack the top 20 with a four-way tie at 19th place. She shot 73 on Saturday but struggled to an 82 in the final round. Her round of 73 included four birdies with two each on each nine. Melissa Walker rounded out the five golfers for Davenport in a four-way tie for 35th place (160).
