BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The busy schedule for the women's golf team continued on Monday with the Bulldog Fall Invite, a 36-hole, one-day event at Katke Golf Course at the campus of Ferris State University. The Panthers finished third in the seven-team field with a score of 628. Grand Valley State won the tournament (618) followed by host Ferris State (625).
Hannah Robinson had a wonderful day tying with three other golfers for second place. She shot a 79 in the morning 18 holes and then got stronger as they day went with an even-par 72 in the afternoon 18 holes. In the afternoon 18 holes, Robinson had two birdies, two bogeys, and 14 pars on her scorecard. She was able to birdie the par-5, 3rd hole and the par-4, 11th hole. The even-par 72 was her lowest career round at Davenport.
Venetia Chap had the best finish of her freshman season in a tie for 12th place. She improved eight strokes from the morning round and shot 75 in the afternoon round to tie her season best. She was able to birdie three holes including the par-4 1st hole, par-5 7th hole, and par-4 14th hole.
ThaiLee Gerding finished in a tie for 15th place with scores of 81 and 78. She had back-to-back birdies in the opening round on the par-5 7th and par-3 8th holes.
Melissa Walker tied for 26th place with a score of 166 (81-85).
Lauren Gervais tied for 30th place with a score of 167 (88-79).
Brooklynn Ringler and
Sydney McDill played as individuals with Ringler in 42nd place and McDill in a tie for 43rd place.
