Preview: DU Set to Compete at Space Coast Games

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University softball team is heading to Melbourne, Fla. to compete in the Space Coast games starting Thursday afternoon (March 7) at the USSSA Space Coast Complex.

Through 16 games, Savanna Disbrow leads the team in batting average (.340) and RBIs (16), while adding a home run and three doubles. Becca Daoust leads the Panthers in hits (19), while Alexis Gills has scored a team-high 12 runs.

DU has hit more triples (seven) than anyone in the GLIAC, also ranking 22nd in all of Division II.

Opponent: Walsh (3-9, 0-0 G-MAC)
About the Cavaliers 
  • Ended last season with a 20-22 overall record, going 12-12 in conference play.
  • Davenport defeated Walsh 3-0 earlier this season on Feb. 24 at this Blue Bridge Battle in Evansville, Ind.
