COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Davenport women's golf team started the 2024-25 season at the Ohio Dominican Champions for Women's Golf Classic with high expectations after making their first NCAA Championship appearance last spring and receiving votes in the first preseason WGCA Division II national poll. The Panthers had a strong showing finishing third out of 15 schools with a two-day total of 618. They fired a 315 and were sitting in fifth place after yesterday's round and then climbed two spots on the leaderboard with a 12-stroke improvement of 303 in today's final round.
Junior
Lauren Gervais continues to be the team's top golfer as she finished in a tie for eighth place with a total of 152 (+12). She carded a 78 in the opening round and improved by four strokes to a 74 and climbed up seven spots on the leaderboard in the second round. Venetia Chap finished in a tie for 13th (155) and
Emma Hill finished in a tie for 19th (156). Junior
Melissa Walker shot 162 (79-83) and finished in a tie for 35th place. Sophomore
Hannah Robinson tied for 43rd place with a total of 164. Sophomore
ThaiLee Gerding shot 79-85 to claim a four-way tie for 43rd place with Robinson and two others. Freshman
Brooklynn Ringler competed as an individual and shot 183. She had an 11-stroke improvement in today's final round with an 86.
