Julia Tuuri and
Ella Baryo set school records on Saturday at the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open. Tuuri improved on her own record in the 200 meters and won the event with a time of 24.77. She also brought home first place in the 60 meters in a time of 7.70 to improve on her own school record in that event. Baryo placed second in the mile and set a school record with a time of 4:57.32. She broke the old school record of 4:58.44 set by
Erin Dorn. She also ran in the 800 meters and had the third fastest time in school history at 2:17.93. The women's 4x400 relay also finished fourth with a time of 4:05.89.
Ibrahim Fall had the third fastest time in DU history in the 400 meters (48.70) and won the event.
Tyler Guggemos ran 4:18.00 in the mile, which was the second best time in school history.
Chandler Griffiths was able to win the open section of the shot put with a throw of 50' 6.75". The men's 4x400 relay finished third with a time of 3:20.59, which was the third fastest in school history. Nik Shilling,
Lucas Van Meter, Guggemos, and
Adam Jorgensen were part of the relay.
Jaden Herrick placed sixth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.58.
Nick Ruvalcaba and
Bryce Albrecht each placed fourth in the pole vault with a height of 15' 5.5".
