Panthers Set to Open Six-Game Homestand Starting with Roosevelt and Ferris State

CALEDONIA, Mich. - Friday, Oct. 10 will mark the Panthers' first competition in a week, providing much-needed rest after playing their last five matches on the road. Davenport will now prepare to host six consecutive home contests at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex in Caledonia, beginning with Roosevelt on Oct. 10.

The matchup against Roosevelt will be the Panthers' first and only meeting with the Lakers during the 2025 campaign. Two days later, DU will host Ferris State on Oct. 12, marking their second contest against the Bulldogs after opening GLIAC play in Big Rapids, where Davenport fell 0-1.

Collectively, the Panthers have recorded six goals this season, taking 77 total shots with 37 on target. Sofia Capoccia leads the team in goals with two, while Josie Wilcox paces the squad in shots with 13. Ella Chatfield holds the team lead in points with four.

In net, goalkeepers Bailey Gauthier and Elizabeth Wolter have shared responsibilities, combining for a 1.78 goals-against average. The duo has faced 108 shots and made 31 saves on the year.

Roosevelt Matchup
Currently 2-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 in GLIAC play, the Lakers will face the Panthers on Friday, Oct. 10 before traveling to Saginaw Valley State on Sunday, Oct. 12. So far this season, Roosevelt has fallen to Northern Michigan (2-4), Michigan Tech (1-3), Purdue Northwest (0-1), and Parkside (2-4), while drawing with Ferris State (1-1).

Offensively, Daisy Garcia leads the Lakers with five goals, making her one of four GLIAC players tied for the most goals this season. Garcia also leads her team in assists (3), points (13), shots (23), and shots on goal (11). She will look to continue her strong offensive presence against Davenport.

In net, Angelina Vasquez has totaled 630 minutes of match play, recording 26 saves on 94 shots faced and posting a 2.38 goals-against average.

Ferris State Matchup
The Bulldogs previously earned a 1-0 victory over Davenport back on Sept. 19 during the 2025 season, with Grace Sampson netting the game's lone goal off an assist from Katherine Welch. Sampson has since tallied two goals, one assist, and a total of five points this season. Welch has also recorded two goals and two assists for six total points, with both players leading the team in goals.

Welch additionally leads the Bulldogs in offensive production, registering 29 total shots and 14 shots on goal. Collectively, Ferris State has scored nine goals on 114 total shots, accumulating 25 points as a team.

In net, goalkeeper Korinne Ihrke has played all 90 minutes in each of the team's nine matches, making 35 saves and posting a 0.89 goals-against average.

Currently, the Bulldogs hold a 3-2-4 overall record and a 3-1-1 mark in GLIAC play, placing them third in the conference standings. They will face Grand Valley State on Oct. 10 before traveling to Caledonia on Sunday, Oct. 12 for a 2 p.m. kickoff against Davenport.
