UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Davenport swimming and diving teams had their last dual before the GLIAC Championships in two weeks as they visited Saginaw Valley State. The women's team lost 154.5-139.5 and the men's team suffered the same fate 191.5-105.5.
Nadia Jastrzabek had the most notable performance of the evening as she set the school record in the 50 free (23.38) and 100 free (50.49). She just started competing in the winter semester and already has left her mark. Those times are also NCAA B cut for potential inclusion in the national championships.
Other significant performances include the women's 200 yard medlay relay winning the event with a time of 1:45.54 (
Alicja Pinkowicz,
Mallory Brownrigg,
Asyia Shank, Jastrzabek). Pinkowicz was able to win the 100 back in a time of 57.53.
Marcel Setlak won the men's 100 back with a time of 49.95. Brownrigg captured the 100 breast in a time of 1:05.91.Â
Micah Sholl won the 100 breast in a time of 55.91. Shank won the 100 fly (57.78) and the 200 fly in a time of 2:09.61. Abigail Wampler won the 200 breast with a time of 2:26.09.
Owen Stender won the 200 breast touching the wall at 2:05.46. Robby Russo showed out in the three-meter dive with a win at 227.20 points.
