The Davenport track and field teams competed at the GVSU Mike Lints Alumni Open and a select few also went to the Michigan Invitational on Saturday in Ann Arbor.
Ella Baryo broke the school record in the mile at UM with a time of 4:53.34 and improved on her own record set just a week ago at SVSU. Baryo placed third in the event and her time is now 32nd in Division II. Jayla Proctor had a huge PR in the shot put with a throw of 40' 9.75" at GVSU and placed sixth in the event.
Soleil Moore was able to place second in the 400 meters (58.35), which was the fourth fastest time in school history.
Jakya Mack-Smith crossed the finish line in third place in the 60 meters with a time of 7.91.
Ethan Scholten competed at GVSU and won the 60 meters with a time of 6.78, which was four one-hundredths of a second off the school record. His time also hit the NCAA provisional mark and is currently 38th in Division II. He also finished fourth in the long jump (22' 8") on his first attempt to set a new PR.
Nick Ruvalcaba in the pole vault finished third and increased his mark at the national level to 35th (15' 11.25").
Malcolm Earvin hit a PR in the 60 meters with a time of 6.90 and finished third.
Marcus Nystrom finished fourth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.21 and set a new PR.
Chandler Griffiths won the shot put with a throw of 51' 9" to set a new PR.
James Horn also finished third in the event at 49' 11.75".
