ORLANDO, Fla. - The men's tennis team finished their spring break trip with three matches featured a team from each of the three NCAA Divisions. On Wednesday, the Panthers defeated D3 Alma College 6-1. Later on Wednesday, the team lost 7-0 to D1 Toledo. On Friday, it was another tough loss against D2 Eckerd by a final score of 4-3. After all of that, Davenport is still having a fine season at 10-3 overall, including an 8-3 record since the start of 2025.
During the Alma match, the Panthers were able to shift their lineup and play some more guys.

Jose Brenes at one doubles won 6-2 over Jake Lasceski/Ashton Trnka.

Rudiger Dusselberg had no worries against August Sack/Tatenda Mukudu at two doubles (6-0).

Reid Reimink at three doubles won 6-2 over Eli Festerling/John Laxton.
Dusselberg moved up to one singles and blanked Lasceski by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
Carlos Henriquez was slotted at two singles and won 6-2, 6-4 over Sack. Brenes played at three singles and won 6-0, 6-2 against Festerling. Dozeman won 6-1, 6-3 at four singles against Trnka. Reimink at five singles dropped his match by scores of 6-3, 6-3 against Mukudu. Muenzer at six singles was victorious by scores of 7-6 (3), 6-2 against Laxton.
The Toledo Rockets improved to 6-4 in the 7-0 decision for DU's second match of the day on Wednesday. The lineup featured a couple regulars but could earn a point. Henriquez/

Reuben Bakker at two doubles won their match 6-3 over Matias Olivero/Charlie Snow. The Rockets took the doubles point at the three spot as Brenes/
Daniel Calver lost 6-2.
In the singles portion, one of the matches went to three sets and that was at the four spot. Bender won the first set 6-3, but then fell 7-5 and 11-9 in the super tiebreaker. Bakker at three singles fought in the first set falling 7-6 (2) and dropped the second set 6-3. Dusselberg at six singles also went to a tiebreaker as Snow won 7-6 (2) and then took the second set 6-4.
After a day off, the Panthers needed all of their energy against Eckerd. The matchup was hotly contested and the Tritons pulled it out 4-3. The doubles saw Eckerd take all three, but the three doubles went into a tiebreaker by a score of 7-6 (8-6) as Brenes/Calver lost to Eric Asakura/Lukas Palla.
Onward to the singles and it was the bottom of the order which propelled the Tritons to the win. Calver at two singles won 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 against Mario Kirkov. Five of the six singles went three sets in a battle between evenly-matched squads. Bakker at three singles etched his name in the win column by scores of 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 against Asakura. Bender at four singles dropped the first set 6-3 and rallied for a 7-6 (2), 6-3 finish against Marshall Hulett. The six singles also played a big role as Palla outlasted Dusselberg by scores of 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
The team will now get a much-needed break before playing again on Saturday, March 8 at Lewis in Lockport, Illinois at 6 PM ET.
