Preview: Panthers Head to Missouri for Pair of Doubleheaders

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport University softball team continues its non-conference slate this week with two doubleheaders against William Jewell. The Panthers and Cards will play on Wednesday and Thursday, starting at 4 p.m. EST on both days with the second game to follow.

Pacing the Panthers' offense through 14 games is Savanna Disbrow, batting .340 (16-for-47). The senior has registered 11 RBIs (team-high), five doubles (team-high) and one home run, starting in all 14 games for DU.

In the circle, Hannah Tahaney has posted a 3-1 record with an impressive 1.19 ERA in six appearances for Davenport. Hailey Whisman has a 4-2 record for the Panthers, recording a team-high 26 strikeouts on the season.

About the Cardinals 
  • Last season, William Jewell went 24-32 overall and 7-19 in GLVC action.
  • Senior Sydney Parra leads the squad in the circle, posting a team-best 2.72 ERA, ranking eighth across the GLVC. Parra has a 6-2 record this season with 24 strikeouts, which also leads the Cards.
