DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards the week ending on April 27, 2025.  Northwest Nazarene senior outfielder Nin Burns II, is the National Hitter of the Week and Davenport senior righty Keegan Batka is the National Pitcher of the Week. 
 
Burns II (Covina, Calif. / Texas Southern) was a terror at the plate as NNU's leadoff hitter in a 5-0 week versus Saint Martin's, batting .611 with a .708 on-base percentage and 1.667 slugging percentage. The outfielder had 11 hits in 18 at-bats, including three doubles, two triples, and four home runs, as nine of the 11 hits were for extra bases. He scored 13 runs, registered 10 RBIs, walked five times, and had two stolen bases. He homered in four of the five games, and in the only game without a home run, he was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple. He scored three times in four of the five games and drove in multiple runs in 3 of the 5 contests. With one week left in the regular season, Burns leads the GNAC in hits and runs scored and is second in RBIs, home runs, and slugging percentage.
 
Batka (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Central Michigan) took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and gave a single to the second batter of the inning in a 9-0 victory over Wayne State (Mich.). He finished the game with his first nine-inning complete game of the season and allowed two walks with nine strikeouts. Batka has won his last three starts to improve to 8-1 this season. In those starts, he has 29 strikeouts in 21.1 innings of work. He is now fifth on the single-season strikeout list (81) at Davenport.
