AURORA, Ill. - The fourth-ranked NCVF Division II Davenport men's volleyball team traveled to Aurora, Illinois, this past weekend to compete in a tournament against a field of top-ranked teams in Division II. The Panthers went undefeated in pool play beating UW-Oshkosh (25-14, 25-18), Butler (25-13, 25-14), and Minnesota-Duluth (25-19, 25-14). Moving on to the power pool round, the Panthers dropped the first match to St. Thomas (25-15, 22-25, 13-15) then rebounded as they beat Colorado Mesa (25-16, 26-24).
In gold bracket play, the Panthers pounded Eureka (25-19, 25-15). In the quarterfinals, the guys exacted revenge by sweeping St. Thomas (25-19, 25-20). Eventual tournament champion Carnegie Mellon's defense proved too much to overcome in the semifinals, defeating the Panthers (18-25, 17-25). With a 6-2 record on the weekend, the Panthers improved their season record to 24-3.

The men's volleyball team resumes play at home this Thursday,Feb. 26 vs. Governor's State at 7:00 pm.
