Panthers Secured Seventh Place Finish at UIndy Invite

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - This past week, the Davenport University men's golf team finished seventh out of 18 teams at the UIndy Spring Invite at the Purgatory Golf Club from April 5-6. The Panthers shot 29 over par through (893) three rounds of action.

Leading the way for DU were Justin Grimard and Pedro Russi, each shooting 221 (+5) through 54 holes of play. The tandem finished tied for 12th overall.

Grimard had his best round in the third, shooting an impressive two under par (70). Grimard also had 11 birdies through two days. For Russi, he had his best round in the second, shooting 70 through 18 holes.

One stroke behind Russi and Grimard was Cayden Kwan with a three-round score of 222 (+6). In the third round, Kwan had his best performance, shooting one under par (71). Kwan had eight birdies and an eagle in the tournament.

Chen-Shiuan Wu came in slotted at 90th overall in the tournament with a three-round score of 235 (+19).

Looking ahead, the Panthers will prep for the GLIAC Championships at Stoatun Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Mich., this week (April 15-17).
