Muncie, Ind. - The Panthers offense has carried them to a hot start this season but it was the defense that rebounded today to give DU their third straight victory with a 15-8 win over Ball State. The win lifts DU to 6-1 on the year and they will travel to Alma College next Saturday.
Having not played in seven days really showed for the young Panthers lineup as the host Cardinals rattled off the first four goals of the game to take full control. The defense would quickly rebound and Davenport scored 15 of the last 19 goals of the game to win 15-8.
Shawn Beer was once again solid on the offensive end as he posted eight points (5 goals and 3 assists) and was followed in scoring by Oliver Wade (2 goals, 1 assist), Gavin Morris (2 goals, 1 assist), Adam Boonenberg (2 goals), Tony Karczewski (2 goals), RJ Bogdanski (1 goal and 1 assist) and Chuey Mares (1 goal).
