ATHENS, Tenn. - DU improved to 3-0 on the year with an 11-8 victory today over Tennessee Wesleyan and they will now take on #1 ranked and the Defending MCLA D2 National Champions Westminster on Monday.
Shawn Beer once again was solid on offense as he led the Panthers with a team high five goals and Jordan Costa chipped in three goals in the victory. Davenport was very solid clearing their zone as they succeeded on 21/30 and used their man-up advantages efficiently as they went 3/6 on the power play.
Other Panthers to post points were Jordan Richtsmeier (1g, 3a) Jordy Sayers (1a), Oliver Wade (1g), Taylor Keyworth (1a), Adam Bowers (1a) and Kyle Anguilm (1a). Justin Scott had 16 saves in the win.
Davenport will take on Westminster on Monday in a matchup of the #1 and #6 ranked teams in the country.
