ATLANTA, Ga. - Playing for the first time since last year's Elite 8 in Denver, Davenport took down Emory for a second straight game this time by the score of 10-6. The win lifts DU to 4-0 on the year and they will take on Kennesaw State on Monday.

Defense has stepped up big so far in the 2010 season and the Panthers again showed their strength on Sunday at Emory College.

DU got out to a quick 2-0 lead after the first quarter highlighted by two goals from Shawn Beer (Aurora, Ontario) and Gavin Morris (Rockford, Mich.). The defense held Emory scoreless until the home team finally scored almost halfway through the second.

The Panthers had put up two more goals before before the first Emory one as Beer added his second and was joined by Sam Carlson (Grand Rapids, Mich.). DU would eventually take a 5-2 lead into the locker room.

DU then put the game away in the third when they scored five more goals while not giving up any to put the lead at 10-2 heading into the final quarter. Beer added three more goals to give the junior five for the game.

Zach Higgins (Courtice, Ontario) got the win in net for the Panthers.
