BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport made their case for a spot in the CCLA post-season tournament last night with a 16-8 win over Ferris State. The team also announced that the game with Walsh University has been cancelled for Saturday. DU is now 13-2 on the year and will find out this weekend their path to the CCLA Tourney from April 30-May 1.

In a game that Davenport needed to win to keep their hopes of a CCLA Tourney bid alive, the Panthers used a balanced attack to down the Bulldogs in Big Rapids.

A hostile crowd could not keep DU's leading scorer Shawn Beer (Aurora, Ontario) from getting three more tallies for his team high 63 goals. Lyle Parks (Grand Rapids, Mich.) led the Panthers with four goals while Sam Carlson (Grand Rapids, Mich.) also chipped in with three.

Zach Higgins finished with 11 saves on the game as he earned his 6th win of the year compared to only two losses.

Davenport will now wait for the final seeds in the CCLA to see where they are being placed in the 6-team tournament in Saline next weekend.
