Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich- Davenport defeated Northwood for the second night in a row. The Panthers beat Northwood 11-1 Saturday afternoon and are now 4-0 on the season. Brooks, Bodziak, Donovan, and Soto each netted two goals for the Panthers.
Davenport came out ready to play Saturday as they faced Northwood for the second time in 24 hours. The panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period as they outshot Northwood 12-9. Putting Davenport on the score board was
Zachary Bodziak and
Chad Ouellette.
Similar to Friday night the second period was when the panthers built a big lead. Davenport scored 3 goals in the second period. The first came off the stick of
Mike Soto, assisted by Ouellette and Guerin. Later in the period Soto added his second of the game and Davenport took a 5-0 lead into the third period.
There was no letting up for the Panthers. Davenport scored 6 times in the third period. The Panthers were led defensively by goalie
John Cruse. Cruse let up only one goal against a Northwood team that scored 3 goals against the Panthers the night before. Davenport will be back in action October 15, as they travel to Rochester to take on Oakland University in their first conference game of the season.
