Senior Day Preview vs. Indiana Tech on Saturday

Panthers play Warriors in first home game of 2011 season

Live Stats

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The No. 2 ranked Davenport men's lacrosse team will open their home slate on Saturday against Indiana Tech and will also celebrate the senior class in a 3:00pm matchup with the Warriors.  Check out head coach Bob Clarkson's preview as Davenport looks to move to 6-0 on the year.

The Panther Lacrosse Team will return home to face the Indiana Tech Warriors on Saturday March 12th at 3:00pm.  This will be the 2nd meeting of the two young teams with the Panthers coming out on top the first time.  The Warriors are coming into the game with a 3 - 1 record and ranked No. 22 while Davenport is 5 - 0 and ranked No. 2.  Both teams begin the meat of their schedule and need to continue strong starts.
Indian Tech's strength is in their midfield unit with several scoring threats.  Number 40 Nick Lichtsinn and number 9 Brent Nichter are capable of having big games.  Both of these players are near the top of the CCLA in scoring.  Another player we will need to cover tightly is #17 Josh Puckett.  While Josh is only a Freshman, he has already scored 10 goals in the first four games.
Indiana Tech has many players from Michigan including two from the Grand Rapids area.  Goalie Gabe Stulp #12 is from Rockford while defenseman Max Glova #51 is from Caledonia.  This game will be especially important for these two players in front of the home town fans.
This is a special game for the Panthers as it is their very first Senior Day.  Davenport has had the lacrosse team for four years so this will be the first year having graduating seniors.
