GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers, playing in their home regular season finale, knocked off Ferris State 28-3 on Thursday night at the DU Turf Field. With the victory, DU ends their regular season at 12-4 overall. The Panthers will play in the first round of the CCLA Tournaments next Saturday at 3 p.m. at the DU Turf Field with the opponent yet to be determined.

Dominic Boggiano (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Jordan Richtsmeier (Grand Rapids, Mich.) both scored a game-high of five goals, while Shawn Beer (Aurora, Ontario) notched a game-high eight points (four goals, four assists). In total, 12 Panthers scored goals and 16 totaled points.

The Panthers jumped out to an early 4-0 before the Bulldogs notched their first goal. After two more DU goals, Ferris State tallied their second score for a 6-2 Panther lead. The score was 8-2 after one period.

With the score 9-3 early in the second period, the Panthers reeled off the next 19 goals. For the remainder of the game, DU held the Bulldogs scoreless, which accounted for over 41 minutes of play, including the whole second half.

Alexis Buque (Whitby, Ontario) started in goal for the Panthers and had an outstanding game, allowing only three goals on nine shots.

Next for the Panthers is a CCLA Tournament next Saturday at 3 p.m. at the DU Turf Field with the opponent yet to be determined.
