GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After four years on the college sideline and many on the high school one, Stacy Faulkner has announced she will be retiring her position as head women's lacrosse coach at Davenport University. The search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
Director of Athletics Paul Lowden was informed this past week from head women's lacrosse coach Stacy Faulkner that she has decided to retire from her position. Stacy will remain working at the Davenport University Call Center.
“We thank Stacy for the past four plus years here a Davenport, said Lowden. She has played an integral part of not only starting the program here at DU but also at Grand Valley and has helped grow the sport in many West Michigan area high schools.”
Stacy, who started the program in the fall of 2007 that began competition in the spring of 2008, posted a four year record of 27-35-1 highlighted by a 15-7 mark in 2009 where the team qualified for the WCLL regional tournament.
