Richtsmeier and Parks Post Four Goals Each in 15-3 Win over Miami

Panthers even season record at 1-1 with win over MCLA DI program

PONTIAC, Mich. - In their second straight game at Ultimate Soccer in Pontiac, the Davenport mens lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season by defeating Miami of Ohio 15-3.  DU led 6-2 at the break and outscored the RedHawks 9-1 in the second.  DU plays in Pontiac once more next Saturday against CCLA foe Northern Michigan.

Jordan Richtsmeier and Lyle Parks each posted four goals on Saturday afternoon to lead the MCLA DI No. 1 Panthers to a 15-3 win over Miami of Ohio. Zach Higgins got the win in net as the senior finished with 3 saves in the first half while Alexis Buque came in the second and had 6 saves.

The Panthers fell behind 2-1 early in the 1st half but then the Panthers ran off five straight to end the first half for a 6-2 lead.  Parks had two of those goals with Dominic Boggiano posting two assists.

The offensive onslaught continued in the second half after the teams split the first two tallies.  Davenport scored eight unanswered goals to finish the game and those goals came by six different players.

The win lifts DU to 1-1 on the year and they will play CCLA foe Northern Michigan next Saturday back down in Pontiac.  Game time is set for 2:00pm.

The Panthers have split their first two games of the season against MCLA DI opponents...Davenport begins their conference play on Saturday against Northern Michigan...Through two games, Richtsmeier has 6 goals and Parks has 7
