Box Score Box Score

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Davenport dropped their second straight game after a late rally wasn't enough to overcome North Dakota State. Davenport trailed by three with less than a minute left but quickly scored two goals and had a chance on a third before turning the ball over with a few seconds left, falling 7-8. Davenport will have the afternoon to regroup before taking on Missouri Baptist tomorrow afternoon.

Dominic Boggiano put Davenport on top early with an unassisted goal 3:15 into the first quarter. North Dakota State responded with two goals. Cody Cross scored for Davenport with less than five minutes to play in the opening quarter to tie the game at two.

Davenport's offense stalled in the second quarter being held scoreless and after the Bison scored twice, North Dakota State had a 4-2 edge going into the half.

Boggiano scored his second goal of the game to open the third quarter and Lyle Parks added a goal near the end of the quarter but two Bison goals in between kept the Davenport deficit at two heading into the fourth.

North Dakota State opened up a four goal lead, their largest of the game, after two goals to start the fourth quarter. Cross scored his second of three goals with 8:26 remaining to cut the lead to two.

Trailing by two with less than a minute to play Jordan Richtsmeier scored on a pass from Boggiano to cut the lead to one and 20 seconds later Cross completed the hat trick to bring Davenport within one.

On the opening face-off, Davenport won the ball and had a chance to score but turned the ball over as time expired.
