Panthers End St. Louis Trip With Win Against Missouri Baptist

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Davenport snapped their two game losing streak by defeating Missouri Baptist 12-4. After being outscored 1-3 in the first quarter, the Panthes battle back to outscore Missouri Baptist 11-1 the rest of the way. Davenport will be in action again on Saturday when they take on #3 Dayton in a CCLA match-up.
 
Dominic Boggaino got the Panthers started with a goal off a pass from Jordan Richtsmeier 4:40 into the game. But Missouri Baptist quickly responded with a man-up goal and then two more even strength goals to close out the quarter.
 
Davenport put things together in the second quarter outscoring Missouri State 6-0 to take a 7-3 lead heading into the half. Boggiano and Cody Cross each scored once in the second while Jack Turcotte and Lyle Parks each netted two goals to give the Panthers the lead.
 
The third quarter started with Jack Turcotte scoring to complete the hat trick. After Kyle Stelter added a goal for the Panthers, Missouri Baptist scored to end the Panthers run at eight unanswered goals.
 
Richtsmeier, Cross, and Stelter each added goals for the Panthers in the fourth to help put away Missouri Baptist.
 
Zachary Higgins got the win in net for the Panthers allowing only four goals while making 15 saves.
 
Five Davenport players scored multiple goals led by Jack Turcotte with three goals. Jordan Richtsmeier led the Panthers in points after tallying one goal and six assists.
 
Davenport will be in action again on Saturday when they host the thrid-ranked Dayton Flyers at 3:00 PM at the DU Turf Field. Live stats and video will be available for the game.

Thoughts on Game - "In a lot of ways we did a better job than we did in yesterday's loss. Our passing, catching, and shots were pretty good. We still have some work to do. Our rides struggled some from an execution stand point and we need to address that in practive."
