GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – No. 5 Davenport outscored No. 14 Hope College 7-2 in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Flying Dutchmen for a 16-9 win.
Jack Turcotte led all players with four goals while five other Panthers tallied at least two goals. Davenport will wrap-up the regular season on Saturday at No. 16 Indiana Tech.
The Panthers came out of the gate a little slow and Hope took advantage scoring the opening goal 2:35 into the quarter for the early 1-0 lead. Davenport responded by scoring two goals, by
Dominic Boggiano and
Jack Turcotte, over the next several minutes to take a 2-1 lead. After Hope scored with five minutes left in the first, Davenport came back with a
Cody Cross goal to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead after one.
Once again, Hope took advantage of a slow start by the Panthers in the second and scored the first three goals of the quarter to take a 5-3 lead, their largest of the game. With 35 seconds left in the half,
Jack Turcotte scored his second goal of the game to pull the Panthers within one heading into halftime.
Jack Turcotte got the Panthers started in the third with a goal less than two minutes into the quarter. Then after a Hope goal, the Panthers responded with three straight goals by
Taylor Keyworth,
Parker Horvath, and
Nathaniel Adkins. Hope broke the Panthers run with a goal with just less than three minutes to go in the quarter. Boggiano added his second goal to close the third quarter and give Davenport a 9-7 lead after three quarter of play.

Lyle Parks. The Panthers outscored Hope 12-4 in the second half to pull away.

Jordan Richtsmeier led the team with three assists. Parks and Boggiano also recorded two assists.
Zach Higgins picked up his fifth win of the season after recording 12 saves on nine goals allowed.
Davenport improves to 10-4 on the season. With the win, Davenport clinches the CCLA North Division for the second consecutive year. Davenport will finish their regular season on Saturday when the Panthers travel to No. 16 Indiana Tech for a 3:00 PM CCLA match-up.
Post-Game Notes
The win clinches the Panthers second straight CCLA North Division title with a perfect 3-0 record...The Panthers are now 5-0 overall in CCLA play with wins against Dayton and Grand Valley as the other two...The win marks the fifth straight year that DU has posted at least 10 wins and improves the Panthers overall record to 5-0 vs. Hope.
