Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport (10-3, 3-1) had their seven game win streak snapped Saturday afternoon as they lost 18-11 to CCLA foe Pittsburgh. Davenport and Pittsburgh both trail Michigan State in the CCLA standing with one loss each.
After going down 8-1 DU took a timeout and got into a groove offensively. Davenport ended the half on a 4-0 run to pull within three goals at halftime.
Cody Cross sparked the run with two goals while
Jack Turcotte and
Nicholas Henderson each added one.
DU came out and struck first in the second half when
Jordan Richtsmeier found
Lyle Parks for his first of two goals of the game. That would be as close as DU would get. Pitt responded to Davenports run with a 4-0 run of their own to build a six goal lead 20 seconds into the fourth. In the fourth quarter Davenport and Pittsburgh went back and forth exchanging goals four times until DU used goalie
Eric Lindstrom as an extra defender and Pitt added two more goals.

Chapin White each added two. Lindstrom finished the game with 9 saves on 27 shots.
Davenport will conclude their regular season next week against Central Michigan on Monday and Michigan State on Saturday.
Post-Game Quote Head Coach
Chris Gervat
“I thought it was one of our weakest performances of the season so far, offensively and defensively I thought that our discipline and focus wasn't their…as we enter our last week we have two must wins, we have Central Michigan which will qualify us for the CCLA tournament and Michigan State which will take us into the final week of the CCLA playoffs…We have to learn from this, break down video piece by piece and move on and not make the same mistakes in the future.”
Post-Game Notes
Davenports 18 goals against is the 2
nd most goals against in program history behind the 24 goals they let in against Michigan State back in 2008…Last time DU let in 18 goals was to St. Thomas in the Final Four in 2009.
