Men’s Lacrosse Routs Central Michigan 24-10

Box Score MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Davenport bounced back from last Saturday's loss to Pitt with a solid 24-10 win over Central Michigan. The win puts the Panthers in a position the share the CCLA regular season title with a win over Michigan State on Saturday.  Jordan Richtsmeier led the Panthers with four goals and four assists while Cody Cross added three goals and four assists

Another slow start found the Panthers behind 3-1 in the first quarter. Then with seven minutes left DU went on a 4-1 run to take a 5-4 lead. Cody Cross helped Davenport claw back assisting on three of the four goals.

The second quarter  was a different story as DU scored seven straight goals to open the quarter. In the end Davenport ended up outscoring CMU 9-1 led by two goals each from Richtsmeier, Boggiano, and Covert. 

In the second half the Panthers continued to roll scoring four goals in the third and six goals the fourth quarter.  Nicholas Henderson scored two of his three second half goals on the man advantage ripping shots from the top on each goal. DU scored four goals on six man up opportunities throughout the game.

Bill Linhardt also came up big in the second half for the Panthers making seven saves while limiting the Chippewa's to 5 goals. Linhardt finished the game with 10 saves on the night.

Post-Game Notes
Davenport did a great job sharing the ball and having balanced scoring. Richtsmeier and Parks each had four goals while Covert, Cross, Boggiano, and Henderson each had three…With a win on Saturday over MSU the Panthers will end the season in a three way tie atop the CCLA with MSU and Pittsburgh.
