Men’s Lacrosse Faces Michigan State with Chance for Share of CCLA Title

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers and Spartans will showdown Saturday night at DU Turf Field in the final game of the season for both teams. MSU can secure the CCLA regular season title outright with a win over the Panthers. DU can claim a share of the title with MSU and Pitt with a win over the Spartans. Opening face-off is set for 8:00 pm at DU Turf field.

After to picking up their first conference loss to Pittsburgh last Saturday, the Panthers responded with a 24-10 over Central Michigan to stay in the hunt for the CCLA regular season  title.

MSU will present a tough challenge entering the matchup riding a 5 game win streak and ranked No.13 in this week's top 25 poll.

The Panthers will face a fierce Spartan defense that is only averaging a little over 5 goals against per game.  DU will face either Matt Allemang or Jake Nyenhuis is net, both have seen substantial time in net this year. Allemang has appeared in nine games and has made 99 saves while boosting a .692 save percentage. Nyenhuis has played in 8 games and has a .632 save percentage.

The Spartans have a balanced offense which has six players who have scored double digit goals this season.  Attackers Josh Nemes, Mackenzie Ensley and Mitchell Hall currently lead MSU scoring with 25, 18, and 16 goals respectively.
