Box Score SALINE, Mich. – The Davenport Men's lacrosse team's season came to an end on Friday as they lost to No.23 Pittsburgh 14-10. Seniors
Lyle Parks and
Jordan Richtsmeier led DU with three and two goals respectively. The Panthers finish the season with an overall record of 11-5 in their first season competing in MCLA division 1.
Davenport and Pittsburgh played an even first half, but penalties plagued DU. Davenport went up 2-0 in the first quarter thanks to goals from
Nick Covert and
Cody Cross. Pitt responded with a 4-1 run to end the quarter including their first man up goal of the half.
In the second quarter DU was outscored 3-1.
Chapin White put the Panthers on the board while Pitt added two more man up goals.
Both teams added three goals in the third quarter. Pitt scored three goals early with a man up goal from
Dominic Boggiano in between to go up 10-5.
Lyle Parks put in two goals in the final two minutes of the period to narrow the gap to three heading into the final Stanza.
The 10-7 deficit was as close as DU would get. Pittsburgh went on a 4-0 run to start the fourth and put the game away. Davenport finished with three goals in the final three minutes; two from
Jordan Richtsmeier and one from
Parker Horvath.

Bill Linhardt finished with 11 saves on the night…Pittsburgh was 3-7 on man up opportunities while DU was 1-3…Pittsburgh will face Michigan State in the CCLA finals on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
