Men’s Lacrosse Finishes Regular Season with Grand Valley and Siena Heights

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After a three wins last weekend that clinched the regular season CCLA title and the first seed in the conference tournament, the men's lacrosse team will be back in action this weekend when they host Grand Valley State on Wednesday for senior day, and will face Siena Heights in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday at Aquinas. The Panthers were also slated to play the University of Minnesota on Sunday, but the game has been canceled. Catch the game against Grand Valley State live on the Davenport Athletic Network.

Grand Valley enters the weekend ranked-fifth in the MCLA Division II polls, and holds and 6-2 record overall and is 3-0 in the CCLA Division II. Senior captain, Brendan Austin, has led the team with 26 goals this season and junior midfielder, Zack Grusell, leads the team with 30 assists and 43 points. The Lakers have had three different players appear in at least three games in net with all three players being freshman. Kyrn Stoddard has played the bulk of time playing in five of the teams seven games. Stoddard has a .588 save percentage and 50 saves on the season.

Location: Grand Rapids, Mich. (Aquinas College)
 
Siena Heights is another MCLA Division II program and is 5-4 on the season. The Saints reached the WHAC Championship after they won their pool in the fall after beating Indiana Tech, 8-6 and Lourdes, 15-4. Leading the team in points this season has been Tom Kreitzer and John Holowaty with 29 points each, and Kreitzer leads the team with 26 goals. In net, junior captain Ryan Mailloux has played in all nine games for the Saints this season and has posted a 7.22 goals against average and a .581 save percentage.
 
The Panthers will start their week off on Wednesday when they face crosstown rival Grand Valley State on the DU Turf Field for senior day with the opening face off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
