Davenport Athletic NetworkGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After having last week off from competition, the 18th-ranked men's lacrosse team will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. for the CCLA Tournament. Davenport finished in first place in the conference during the regular season going 5-0 and will be the number seed in the conference tournament. Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Central Michigan are the two, three and four seeds in the tournament, respectively. The Panthers will start their conference tournament against Central Michigan at Ann Arbor High School on Friday at 9 a.m.

Live Video/Stats Central Michigan enters the weekend with a 6-9 record and is 3-3 in the CCLA. The Chippewas were in a three-way tie for third place and the team grabbed the fourth seed in the CCLA Tournament. Kyle Harris is leading the team with 54 points and 32 goals. Harris is tied with James Gentile with 22 assists. In goal, Central Michigan has had three different players appear in at least five games this season. Grant Meade has played in 11 games and leads the team with a .540 save percentage.
The Panthers and Chippewas faced off early last month on the DU Turf Field. Davenport was able control the game and beat Central Michigan 21-7.
Quick Look at Michigan State Michigan State enters the weekend ranked seventh in the country after beating Connecticut and moving up one spot in the latest polls. The Spartans are 12-3 on the season and are 5-1 in the CCLA. Davenport handed Michigan State their only conference loss earlier this season in East Lansing as the Panthers grabbed a 9-8 overtime win. The Spartans will start the CCLA Tournament against Pittsburgh on Friday.
Quick Look at Pittsburgh Pittsburgh comes into the CCLA Tournament with a 7-7 overall record and is 3-3 in the CCLA and won the three-team tiebreaker for the third seed in the conference tournament. Pittsburgh will open the conference tournament against Michigan State and both teams faced off last weekend with the Spartans coming away with an 11-7 win. Pittsburgh opened their regular season schedule against Davenport in February, and DU won the game 14-9.
The winner of the Pittsburgh vs. Michigan State semifinal will face the winner of the Central Michigan vs. Davenport semifinal on Saturday at 3 p.m. for the CCLA Championship.
Davenport will begin the CCLA Conference Tournament on Friday in Ann Arbor, Mich. against Central Michigan at 9 a.m.
