GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 2015 regular season is in the books, and the CCLA conference tournament looms for the Davenport men's lacrosse team, who brings their perfect 5-0 record in CCLA play to Pittsburgh, where they will face the host Panthers in the first round of action on Friday, May 1^st. The opening drop is scheduled for 8 p.m., with the winner taking on the winner of the Michigan State, Central Michigan match.

The Panthers
Chris Gervat's Panthers finished the 2015 regular season with a 10-7 overall record, including a 5-0 record in CCLA play, and have earned the number one seed in the CCLA tournament. Newly awarded WHAC Offensive Player of the Year Bryan Larocque leads the Panthers into this weekend's action, as he finished the regular season with a total of 72 points, including a team high 57 goals and second best 15 assists. Senior defenseman Sam White also earned the WHAC Defensive Player of the Year award, as well as five other Panthers being named to the All-Conference First Team.
 
The Matchup
Davenport and Pittsburgh last saw each other back on April 11th, where they squared off at East Grand Rapids in a thriller that resulted in a 16-15 Davenport victory. The overall series between the two Panther squads sits at an even 2-2, with Davenport claiming the last two victories. This will be the first time the two teams will meet in CCLA Tournament play.
 
The Winner of Friday's matchup will face the winner of the Michigan State, Central Michigan match, whom preceeds Davenport and Pittsburgh's contest. The championship game will be held on Saturday.
