GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Panther men's lacrosse team dropped their home opener to Pittsburgh 12-10 on Saturday night. DU suffered its third straight loss and is now 2-3 overall this season. The first and third quarters had just about all the offense for both teams. Pitt scored six goals in the first period and led DU 6-5 after 15 minutes. The Pitt Panthers scored the only goal of the second quarter for a 7-5 halftime advantage.
Both teams scored five times in the third quarter and Davenport scored the only goal of the fourth quarter but could not make the comeback happen.
Bryan Larocque scored four goals for DU.
Jarred Riley added three goals and one assist.
Devon Benson contributed two goals and an assist to the cause.
Zach Schneider went 7-of-10 in the faceoff circle.
Daniel Kransberger was superb in net with 15 saves in the contest.
