ORLANDO, Fla. – The Panthers went 2-1 over their last three matches down in Florida and finish the trip 3-3. Davenport defeated both Milwaukee School of Engineering and University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras by a score of 9-0, but fell to third ranked Keiser 9-0. The team finished an even 3-3 for the trip and are currently 5-8 on the year.
Match 1 (Wednesday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m.)
Final score: Davenport-9 | Milwaukee School of Engineering-0
Location: Orlando, Fla.
Records: DU (4-7) | MSOE (1-12)
Davenport swept all the singles and doubles matches against MSOE.
Matthew McClurg won in three sets, 6-0, 1-6 and 6-2.
Juan-Philip van Antwerpen won 6-2 and 6-1, while
Matthew Boyle won 6-3 and 6-1.
Michael Digby won 6-0 and 6-4,
Haja Denise won 6-2 and 6-1.
Max Hartman had the biggest margin of victory with his 6-1 and 6-0 win over Tyler Hannen.
In the doubles the combo if Denise and Digby won 8-4, while the duo of Antwerpen and
Sam Rogerson won 8-3. McClurg and Boyle earned the largest margin of victory with their 8-2 decision over Nelson and Smith.
Match 2 (Wednesday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m.)
Final score: #3 Kesier-9 | Davenport-0

The Panthers were shut out during a tough match against one of the top NAIA teams in the country. McClurg put up the biggest fight in the singles competition with his two set loss, 4-6 and 2-6, against Sebastian Penaloza.
The combo of Antwerpen and Rogerson were the closest to receiving a point for DU after they lost only 6-8 during the doubles competition.
Match 3 (Friday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m.)

Records: DU (5-8)
Davenport, similar to the match against MSOE, cruised to an easy 9-0 victory over PRRP. McClurg, Antwerpen, Boyle, Digby, Denise and Hartman all won their singles matches. Antwerpen had the closest match with his three set decision. After losing the opening set he won the second 6-2 and the third 10-4.
The doubles teams for DU got the job done as well, sweeping all three competitions. Digby and Denise defeated their opponents 8-6, while Rogerson and Antwerpen followed that up with an 8-6 decision of their own. McClurg and Boyle earned the largest margin of victory with their 8-3 win.

The team is back in Michigan momentarily and will play their next match in Joliet, Ill. against the University of Saint Francis (Ill.).
