HOW IT HAPPENED Starting off hot in the first half, the Panthers offense was able to put up a couple early goals to jump ahead of the Golden Gophers. The initial run was started by sophomore attack
Paul Schalau, on an unassisted goal coming from behind the cage. While pushing transition following the first goal, junior attack
Jarred Riley was able to find Schalau and junior attack
Bryan Larocque wide open for two more assisted goals. With momentum leaning towards Davenport and a strong effort by the attack, the Panthers were able to climb ahead of the Gophers leading into halftime 5-1.
Going into the second half, the Panthers were led by senior goaltender Danny Kransberger who posted a school record with 38 total saves in the contest. Davenport's lack of possession in the second half resulted in only three goals scored, and would ultimately lead to a loss. With the Minnesota Golden Gophers coming out on top, the Panthers shift their focus to redemption in the CCLA tournament which will be held April 29 and 30 in Ann Arbor.
