GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - On Friday, the men's lacrosse team took down CCLA opponent Oakland University Golden Grizzlies by the score of 27-7. DU has a 7-7 record heading into the CCLA playoffs, next weekend in Chelsea against Michigan State.

HOW IT HAPPENED In the final CCLA matchup of the season, the Panthers took down Oakland University in a very dominate performance. Davenport was tied with Oakland 3-3 in the first few minutes. Before the first quarter could end, junior attackmen

Jarred Riley connected to put in four more goals making the score after one 8-3. Going into the second quarter, the Panthers went on a seven-goal streak with two unassisted goals by senior midfielder
Devon Benson, and two more from junior midfielder
Jack Faulkner. Headed into the final half of play, Davenport's commanding performance continued. While outscoring their opponent 12-4 in the second half, Davenport also had control between the boxes. Junior midfielder
Joe Lopez was able to go 11-of-14 at the faceoff circle, and secure a lot of possession time towards the end of the game. With the high scoring effort by the Panthers, Larocque passed the mark of 300 career points with his 10-goal performance on the night.
