SAGINAW, Mich. - The Davenport University women's swimming and diving team competed in day one of the GLIAC Championships on Wednesday at Saginaw Valley State's Gerstacker Regional Aquatic Center. Following the action, the Panthers are in fourth out of six teams with 41.5 points.
Davenport's best finish of the day came in the 200 IM where
Emma Wallis (pictured) placed third with a time of 2:04.62. Two other Panthers finished among the top 16 in that event including
Victoria Postmus in 14th (2:10.86) and
Jesica Smit in 16th (2:12.39).
In the 50 free,
Anna Wooters touched the wall in 10th in the finals (24.34) after a ninth-place performance in the preliminaries with a school record time of 24.28. For the 1000 free,
Megan Fraula came in at 14th with a mark of 10:41.27.
For the three-meter dive, Davenport placed 11th, 13th and 15th with
Lexis Mirandette (381.85),
Emily Bolt (352.55) and
Lacey Mirandette (338.75), respectively.
In the day's lone relay, Davenport finished in 5th in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.25. The four Panthers competing were
Lauren Bockheim,
Allison Steffin,
Dominyka Rapsyte, and Wooters.
Thursday for day two, the prelims are set to begin at 10 a.m. and the finals are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
