GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport women's basketball season will come to a close this week as the Panthers will travel to Saginaw Valley and Wayne State. DU will play Thursday at 6 PM in University Center against the Cardinals and Saturday in Detroit against the Warriors at 1 PM.

Saginaw Valley Notes
• These two teams met back on Dec. 4 with the Cardinals getting the 68-39 win in Grand Rapids. Kaitlyn Zarycki scored a game-high 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting and also had six rebounds and three steals. Ashley Buchholz added 15 points off the bench and connected on four triples. Loni Sales led the Panthers with eight points and DU shot 22.6 percent from the floor (2nd lowest this season).
• The Cardinals are currently tied for fifth in the GLIAC standings with Michigan Tech. They are 8-3 at home this season and have won their last two games. On Tuesday, they beat the Huskies 79-70 at home behind a team-high 20 points from Tori DePerry. SVSU shot 56.1 percent in the game and 11-12 from the foul line.

Wayne State Notes
• Wayne State and DU played back on Dec. 2 in the GLIAC opener for both teams. The Warriors won 58-50 pulling away in the fourth quarter. Rebecca Fugate led WSU with 15 points and had five rebounds. Kate Sherwood notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Scout Nelson led DU with 13 points and 11 rebounds for her first of two double-doubles this season.
• The Warriors are currently in a second-place tie in the GLIAC standings with Ferris State. They are 8-3 at home this season and dropped a 72-69 overtime game at Michigan Tech back on Saturday. Grace George led the team with 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting. Fugate added 13 points in 35 minutes. Sam Cherney grabbed 16 rebounds which was the 16th time this season with double-digit rebounds.
