LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Panther track and field teams made the trip to Louisville for the Bellarmine Jim Vargo Invitational and saw three school records fall by the wayside.
Ella Baryo took the top spot all-time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase which took place on Friday with a time of 11:28.22. Baryo also finished third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:49.24 and set a personal best.
TJ Moore ran a time of 32:08.93 in the 10,000 meters and now holds the school record.
Claude Ockert placed second in the hammer throw and his record throw was 200' 4". He made a national qualifier mark and currently ranks first in the GLIAC and third in the country.
Les Miner placed sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:59.50.
Riley Schroeder placed second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:39.75 and set a personal best.
Trevor Luznak placed fifth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:48.01.
The women's 4x100 meter relay of
Jaida Thomas,
Julia Tuuri,
Leialani Akalaonu, and
Mya Staczek placed third with a time of 50.13.
Emma Schafer placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.61 and was nearly in a dead heat with Mia Jordan of Lawrence Tech. They had to go to 14.605 for Jordan and 14.607 for Schafer. Schafer was also the winner of the javelin with a throw of 133' 0".
Corbin DeJonge finished first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.41 and was second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.91.
Ryan Olsen claimed third in the same event with a time of 15.36.
Noah Dooley was able to finish fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 50.49 and set a personal best.
Brendan LaLonde finished third in the 100 meters with a time of 11.00.
Joey Fox was a second-place finisher in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.13.
Colin Grady won the long jump with a distance of 22' 4.5" and placed fourth in the 200 meters with a time of 23.04.
Stacia Rispress,
Emma Schafer, and
Deidre Lorton each cleared 4' 9" in the high jump and tied for third.
Mackenzie Brigham won the long jump with a distance of 17' 0.5".
Jessica Marvin was second in the hammer throw (162' 3") and third in the discus with a toss of 130' 9".
Isaiah Schafer won the discus with a throw of 175' 1" and the shot put (56' 8.5") and was third in the hammer throw (177' 1").
Lisa Wangler won the hammer throw with a distance of 164' 2".
The pole vaulters made their trip to Oakland University on Friday and
Jacob Atlas placed fifth while
Sidney Heugel was second.
