ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Davenport track and field teams competed at the Al Owens Classic hosted by Grand Valley State on Friday and Saturday. There were six school records that were broken during the meet and several other stellar performances
SCHOOL RECORDS
Noah Dooley - 100 meters (10.43) - placed second in the event and hit the national standard currently ranked 19th in NCAA Division II
Brendan LaLonde - 100 meters also broke school record finishing 3rd overall (10.62)
Isaiah Schafer - Shot Put (60' 6.5") and moved to 5th nationally - placed second in the event
Claude Ockert - Hammer Throw (208' 9") and is currently fourth in Division II - finished third in the event
Leialani Akalaonu - 100 meters (12.24) and 200 meters (25.55) - placed second in the 100 and fourth in the 200
Corbin DeJonge was second in both the 110 and 400 hurdles with a time of 14.62 and 55.43 respectively. The women's 4x400 meter relay consisting of
Julia Tuuri,
Jaida Thomas, Akalaonu, and
Mya Staczek finished third with a time of 48.65. The men's 4x100 meter relay consisting of
Kaleb Chappell,
Colin Grady, LaLonde, and Shawn Sims finished third with a time of 42.18.
Kyla Chappell was able to finish sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.10.
Scout Nelson was fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:19.74.
LaLonde took home fourth place in the 200 meters with a time of 21.72.
Mackenzie Brigham picked up a win in the triple jump with a distance of 35' 9.5". She also placed third in the long jump with a distance of 16' 11.5".
Cody Brandenburg placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 39' 10.5" and also set a new personal best in the long jump (21' 0.75").
Emma Schafer placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 38' 9".
Bryce Monroe finished third in the discus with a throw of 135'.
Grady placed second in the long jump with a distance of 22' 1.75".
Jessica Marvin placed third in the hammer throw (163' 4") and set a new personal best.
